Shane jumps on the BIG ARVO BUS

Today Shane appeared on Australian television screens as a guest on "The Big Arvo". Unfortunately, I heard about this event yesterday (as the "next episode" was screened) but actually missed seeing the interview.

Shane on 102.7 KIIS FM with RICK DEES

Shane was on the radio! He was on the radio on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 7 o'clock in the morning! He was visiting Rick, on Rick Dees in the morning on 102.7 KIIS FM. It so happens that Rick and Ellen K. were talking about hotdogs before he came on. You'll see why later. This was how the conversation went- Rick-"We have a special treat for you today on Rick Dees in the morning. He is the star of the motion picture A Walk to Remember, alongside Mandy Moore. He fronts the band Jonny Was. Here is, Superstar Shane West!" 

Shane-"Hi Rick, how are you?" 

Rick-"I'm great, how are you?" 

Shane-"Good, good." 

Rick-"So what are you up to now Shane?" 

Shane-"Well, uh, during the summer, my band is going to be performing. It'll be one of the last gigs we'll do together for a while. Then I am off to do my next film for 4-5 months." 

Rick-"So what time do you wake up?" 

Shane-"Well, about now, actually." 

Rick-"Then you have a hotdog." 

Shane-"(laughs) Yeah, then I have a hotdog." 

Rick-"So are you happy about how your movie turned out?" 

Shane-"Actually, I am really happy about it. I am overwhelmed." 

Rick-"How is it working with Mandy Moore?" 

Shane-"She is really nice. She's great." 

Rick-"So are you the kind of guy who plans his own life, or does someone do it for you?" 

Shane-"Actually, my manager does all of that for me." 

Rick-"Is he that guy lurking around in the shadows over there?" 

Shane-"Yup, that's him. (Laughs) He's a nice guy." 

After that small conversation, Shane participates in a game called, "Battle of the Sexes" with this other guy. The games is played by 2 teams. Boys vs. Girls. The boys get the girly questions and the girls get the manly questions. Due to technicalities, Shane's team won! But he doesn't really say much after that little conversation w/ Rick. It really sucks because he only talks for like, 5 min. But what was really funny was that, Rick kept calling Shane, "Superstar Shane West." The show was hilarious.
